A defect is Potentially Serious when one behavior should occur, but the software is providing a wrong result or behavior that is not obvious to the user.  A defect is classified as Potentially Serious without regard for the frequency at which it may occur.

You can execute your physics simulation on your local machine (using Local Interactive mode and Local Non-interactive) or on the Cloud 1. The simulation execution location will be one of the parameters affecting the results computation location.

CST Bio Models Library Extension is a collection of add-on human body models, phantoms, macros and materials extending the CST Bio Models Library for bio-electromagnetics, bio-medical and high-tech applications like implants, body-worn or mobile devices or medical imaging.

It needs to be downloaded and installed separately from the CST Studio Suite(R).

A plugin has been developed for Abaqus/CAE that facilitates the setup, analysis, and post-processing of finite element representative volume element (FE-RVE) models.  Such models permit detailed study of the behavior of small-scale material microstructures under the influence of far-field loading.

The plugin includes documentation which can be downloaded directly from this article along with the plugin itself. The plugin should be extracted into an abaqus_plugins directory (for instance, \$HOME/abaqus_plugins).  It can then be accessed from the Plug-ins menu in Abaqus/CAE.

A plug-in is a piece of software that installs itself into another application to extend the capabilities of that application. Abaqus plug-ins execute Abaqus Scripting Interface and Abaqus GUI Toolkit commands, and they provide a way to customize Abaqus/CAE for your particular needs or preferences.

Several plug-ins are provided on the Abaqus installation CD. The portal provides example plug-ins as well as access to a community of users that fosters the advance of the Abaqus Scripting Interface and the Abaqus GUI Toolkit. You can also write your own plug-ins.

Different releases of Abaqus may require newer compiler levels incompatible with previous releases of Abaqus.  This article outlines methods to configure different compiler environments for each Abaqus release so that multiple compiler environments can co-exist, albeit separately.

Environment set-up consists primarily of assigning proper values to memory management parameters in the abaqus_v6.env file. There are no environment file parameters that control memory use by Abaqus/Explicit (explicit.exe) and the Abaqus/Explicit packager (package.exe). The default memory value is usually sufficient for most systems.

This article gives you detailed instructions for installing and updating the SIMULIA CST Studio Suite license server for the supported operating systems. The process for updating the license server is the same as installing the license server.

It is recommended that you install CST License Server on Windows or Linux by using the latest release of SIMULIA CST Studio Suite installation package. During the installation process, select the “License Server only” setup type.

DSLS has been introduced for the first time in CST Studio Suite with CST 2021, i.e. CST 2021 and onwards has an option to select either FlexLM or DSLS.

Please note that the license files for FlexLM and DSLS license services are not compatible, i.e. license files issued for FlexLM cannot be used with DSLS and vice versa.
