Overview/simulation of various components in RIT thrusters is given: Coils, ion-optics, periphery

Speaker Info:

Tobias Sommavilla completed his engineering studies (B.Eng.) in electronics at the TH Mittelhessen in 2016. In the subsequent master’s program “Electrical Engineering and Information Technology” (M.Sc.), in the field of simulation technology, he dealt with methods of analysis and real-time simulation of nonlinear dynamic systems.

After completing his master’s degree in 2018, he started his employment as a research associate in the space electronics group. His research area is the identification, simulation and optimization of electromagnetic processes leading to losses in radio frequency ion thrusters using 3D field simulation techniques.
