This is an animation of an object that bounces higher than its drop height. The close-up part of the animation shows the secret. The object is a rubber dome that has been turned inside out. The stored strain energy is released at impact. The dome was turned inside out in Abaqus/Standard and then imported into Abaqus/Explicit. The animation was created in the Physics Results Explorer app. I would not normally simulate the falling because it is inefficient. In this case, I wanted to clearly show the rebound height compared to the drop height.
