Abstract
This presentation showcases advanced CFD simulations using Lattice Boltzmann methods to analyze a submarine, with and without a propulsion unit. It evaluates hydrodynamic performance to support stealth optimization, focusing on resistance, drag, appendage effects, skin friction, pressure distribution, and turbulent boundary layer behavior. Propeller performance is assessed in open-water and installed setups, including thrust, torque, and self-propulsion. Long-range wake tracking is also explored for its impact on acoustic signature and stealth.
