SIMULIA PowerFLOW 2022 Refresh 3 Release Announcement

The PowerFLOW Physics, Validation, Development, Industry Process Success (IPS), and Product Management Teams are pleased to announce the general availability of SIMULIA PowerFLOW 2022 Refresh 3, which is available for download on the Dassault Systèmes Download Platform beginning on May 26 2023.

SIMULIA PowerFLOW 2022 Refresh 3 contains the following major enhancements and new features:

  • High speed solvers
    • The VLES turbulence model in the HS and TS solvers includes a laminar-turbulent transition model, leading to higher accuracy for high speed flows at low to moderate Reynold’s numbers, as well as at very fine resolution.
    • With the “Mach Regime: High Subsonic with Extended Range” option, the Mach number range of the HS solver is extended beyond Mach 0.95 for flows with local flow speed slightly above Mach 1 (

  • PowerDELTA:
    • Starting from 2022 Refresh 2, the geometry engine is ACIS 2023, which enables support of the latest version of CAD formats; as well as improved quality and performance.
  • PowerCASE Rules and Hierarchical Partitions
    • For each rule set, it is now possible to select a base segment in a matching partition against which rules are matched. The patterns in each rule are interpreted relative to the base segment. Also, the rules in the rule sets only apply to the base segment and its descendants. This enables modularity in creating and applying rules to different sections of a model, and addresses certain inconsistencies in the initial implementation of rule sets.
    • Import rules are no longer associated with Import Assembly objects, and instead use a selected base segment in the Base Assembly. This allows Import rules to be applied to not only Import Assembly, but also to individual part import.
    • Rules Override Indicators will highlight any settings (display property, segment membership or import setting) that deviates from those that would be set by the rules in the case with an orange box.
  • PowerTHERM 2023.1.0: The latest PowerTHERM version (2023.1.0) is included in this release with the following key features:
    • New Advanced Graphics engine is fully enabled with display of texture maps
    • Human thermal models solve faster than before with less memory
    • Accelerated calculation of view factors, thermal links and solar apparent areas
  • PowerACOUSTICS
    • PowerACOUSTICS can be run from the 3DEXPERIENCE Platform in Power’BY mode via the PowerFLOW connector
    • Each PowerFLOW project is associated with a corresponding run directory, under which all output files will be stored
    • From 2022 Refresh 3, PowerACOUSTICS no longer supports poweracoustics_noisetrans (PAT) licenses
  • PowerVIZ exports animations to the 3DEXPERIMENT Platform in scenes with some limitations: the number of animations steps should be less than 10, there is only one type of animation per scene, except fluid streamlines; and time animations will use the same settings for all scenes in a project.

Thank you!
