Gana Balasubramanian, SIMULIA Energy and Materials Industry Process Expert Specialist & Rafael Salazar Tio, SIMULIA Energy and Materials Industry Process Expert, presented Micro-Fluidics Modeling for Semi-Conductors Manufacturing Processes at the 2024 SIMULIA High-Tech Industry Day in Santa Clara, California, Wednesday, September 11, 2024.
Abstract: In this presentation, we explore how high-fidelity computational modeling can help organizations evaluate physical prototypes, reduce exploration, discovery time and optimize lab resources. This is achieved using Virtual Porous Media Lab (VPML) to showcase how a virtual twin of some manufacturing processes involving multiphase flow can predict key performance metrics in its desired application. In particular, we present several examples from the semi-conductors industry:
(1) Simulation of underfill capillary flow in flip-chip encapsulation process.
(2) Simulation of dynamics of droplets spreading in inkjet printing OLED encapsulation process.
(3) Simulation of stack bending in semi-conductor wafer cleaning process due to capillary forces.
(4) Simulation of liquid electrolyte infilling process in 3D microstructures of Li-ion battery electrodes.
By attending this seminar, you will learn how multi-physics and multi-scale micro-structured materials simulation with SIMULIA Virtual Porous Media Lab solution is used to optimize manufacturing processes of various semi-conductors industry applications.
