Aahh, peace and quiet
For most Internal Combustion Engine (ICE) vehicle markets, tire noise is often considered a secondary concern compared to mitigating more significant noise sources, such as the engine. However, electric vehicles produce very little motor noise-wind noise dominates at high speeds and tire noise at low speeds. This affects both the passenger experience and the pass-by noise experienced by the local community. Radiated tire noise can be analyzed with simulation by quickly optimizing tire design to reduce noise and use the same tire model as other virtual tests. This means there is no need to rebuild the tire model in the new simulation environment.
