Compared to their gasoline-powered counterparts, electric vehicles tend to be quieter. However, while electric vehicles produce very little motor noise, wind noise dominates at high speeds and tire noise at low speeds. Radiated tire noise can be analyzed with simulation, with Design of Experiments (DoE) enabling users to quickly optimize tire design to reduce noise. Tire noise simulations can use the same tire model as other virtual tests, meaning there is no need to re-build the tire model in the new simulation environment.
