Hello everyone, today I'd like to share with you the process of simulating and evaluating the outdoor wind environment for a practical engineering project based on the 3DExperience platform.

The analysis of the outdoor wind environment surrounding buildings is a crucial aspect in the architectural design process. It primarily focuses on the characteristics of airflows in the vicinity of buildings. The goal is to optimize building layouts and designs, enhance the comfort of occupants, and simultaneously ensure the safety and functionality of the structures.

Within the PLM platform, CFD (Computational Fluid Dynamics) simulation models are directly generated from the parametric models of architectural designs, significantly reducing model preparation work and eliminating issues such as inconsistencies between models. The main contents include:

  1. Model Preparation: Preparing the architectural model for CFD simulation.

  2. Near-Ground Wind Inlet Conditions Based on JavaScript: Programming inlet conditions for simulating near-ground winds using JavaScript.

  3. Turbulence Model Setup: Configuring the turbulence model to accurately represent airflow dynamics.

  4. Post-Processing: Analyzing and interpreting the simulation results to evaluate the wind environment.

During the analysis, it's imperative to consider the relationship between the wind environment and the building's functions and usage requirements. In areas with high pedestrian traffic, ensuring good ventilation conditions and avoiding the formation of stagnant or vortex zones is essential. In contrast, for areas requiring wind protection and warmth, appropriate architectural designs and landscaping measures should be implemented to reduce wind speeds and improve the wind environment.
