The Institute of Applied Mathematics and Statistics at the University of Hohenheim is seeking to appoint a postdoc (full-time for 3 years with the option of prolongation) in the research area of computational drug cardiotoxicity testing. The institute is well linked to pharmaceutical research institutions (both academic and industrial), involved in the organization of the 2017 annual meeting of the Safety Pharmacology Society, and a member of the Living Heart Project by Dassault Systèmes.

The ideal applicant will have a PhD in mathematics or statistics and a proven track record and strong research potential in one or several of the following areas

• bifurcation, multiple time scale and chaos analysis of medium/large scale ODE systems
• FEM analysis of PDE systems with COMSOL, SIMULIA or similar software
• bifurcation theory and pattern analysis of PDEs
• data assimilation into PDE systems
• statistical risk estimation
• computational cardiology
• PK/PD modelling
