On Demand Tech Talk | PowerFLOW 2024: New Features and Enhancements

Abstract

Vehicle product development is undergoing a "left-shift" due to challenges from intensifying global competition and pressures to decarbonize and electrify. High fidelity simulation tools, such as SIMULIA PowerFLOW, are seen as a key enabler that allows detailed virtual design development by providing feedback on real-world performance, thus enabling innovation, eliminating prototypes and late-stage testing.  But how can the loop between designers working on product design and simulation engineers be closed in a seamless common environment? The MODSIM paradigm provides a unified modeling and simulation on a common data model on the 3DEXPERIENCE platform. The 3DEXPERIENCE Cloud is being developed to provide software and compute infrastructure as a service for MODSIM.
New capabilities are needed that accelerate product development, such as automatic treatment of gaps and holes in complex geometry with generalized Precise Wrap. GPU computing has the promise to accelerate simulation at a much lower cost than HPC.

In this Tech Talk, we will highlight the new capabilities to that connect PowerFLOW to the 3DEXPERIENCE Platform and make it available on Cloud. We will present the latest on PowerDELTA and Precise Wrap, GPU solver development and on high-speed solver capabilities. We will describe new post-processing and run comparison capabilities, such as generalized transient power spectrum from probes.

Highlights:

  • High Fidelity PowerFLOW simulations are now aligned with MODSIM values by integration of PowerACOUSTICS on 3DEXPERIENCE Platform via Power'BY and on 3DEXPERIENCE Cloud
  • PowerDELTA Precise Wrap is available for general usage for all environments
  • The PowerFLOW GPU solver capabilities are being rapidly developed to Accelerate vehicle aerodynamics & aeroacoustics and HVAC design at lower cost
  • New High-Speed solver capabilities have critical impact on aerospace and defense, as well as industrial equipment
