On Demand Tech Talk | GRIN Lens Antennas for 6G: Background, Simulation and Fabrication

Abstract

Join our guest speaker from Fortify and learn more about how CST Studio Suite helps engineers analyze and design lenses from the unit cell level to the final model validation.

Antenna systems play a key role in our connected world, and the wireless scenario of the future is a challenging one. Higher efficiency requirements and the trade-off between coverage and capacity are some of the primary challenges, especially for systems operating at the mm-wave range and above.

With recent developments in meta-materials and additive manufacturing techniques, Gradient Refractive Index (GRIN) Lens Antennas are receiving renewed interest and are positioning themselves as valuable network assets. A properly designed lens not only increases the aperture efficiency of radiators but also enables novel techniques for beam manipulation, beam scanning and even thermal management.

In this Tech Talk, we will explore how CST Studio Suite helps engineers analyze and design lenses from the unit cell level to the final model validation. We will complete the cycle by showing how Fortify realizes and prints the design, demonstrating its application to ensure connectivity in a network densification case.
