Abstract
Sealing simulations with gaskets present a unique challenge to the structural analyst. The large difference between the in-plane and thickness dimensions coupled with the nonlinear thickness behavior make ordinary finite-element techniques inefficient or even impossible. Gasket elements allow Abaqus users to overcome these difficulties and efficiently simulate structures which contain gaskets. Damping in gaskets in dynamic simulations and through-thickness heat transfer can be included. Attendees will see an overview of gasket element types, learn how to define gasket behavior in terms of pressure/closure curves, and some examples of how gasket element applications. Anyone who needs to model with gaskets is urged to attend.
Highlights:
- Learn about modeling with gasket elements
- See examples of simulations with gasket elements
- Learn practical tips for gasket element usage
