Abstract
Connector elements allow users to create mechanical combinations of finite element meshes. This makes Abaqus a powerful simulation tool for structures that must incorporate mechanisms. Connectors have the ability to model connections as simple as pins and rigid links or as complicated as nonlinear frictional joints with elasticity and failure. Attendees will see an overview of connection types, the definitions of connections in terms of Abaqus keywords, and some examples of what connectors may able to do for them.
Highlights:
- Learn the connection types
- Learn how to use connector elements to create mechanisms
- See advanced connector behaviors like elasticity, damping, and failure
