This is an Abaqus/Standard simulation driven by an enforced velocity on a rigid body. (Velocity-controlled or displacement-controlled loading is better for convergence in many cases.) The simulation procedure is dynamic with the quasi-static application. The first step of the simulation has a *STEP CONTROL option which tracks the reaction force at the boundary condition which is moving the rigid body. The step control ends the step when the reaction force reaches 120. The velocity is reversed in the second step. The shell remains deformed because its material has plastic deformation.
