As part of the R2026x FD01 user assistance, SIMULIA R&D created a 3DEXPERIENCE tutorial that teaches you how to use tools in the Geometry Idealization app to repair an incomplete midsurface of a part.
While completing this tutorial, you first use the app’s midsurfacing tool to derive an incomplete midsurface. You then derive an isoparametric curve from one of the original surfaces and extrude this curve to create the missing midsurface. Along the way, you create abstraction shapes and geometrical sets to logically organize geometric features.
You can use what you learn in this tutorial to implement midsurfacing and geometry repair techniques on your own CAD models.
To try this tutorial yourself, see Using Isoparametric Curve Methodology to Create the Midsurface of a Rib.
Many thanks to @MB and Veronica CARUSO for all their efforts in bringing this tutorial to life!
