New 3DEXPERIENCE Tutorial: Partitioning a Part for Hex Meshing

As part of the R2026x FD04 user assistance, SIMULIA R&D delivered a new 3DEXPERIENCE tutorial titled “Partitioning a Part for Hex Meshing.” This tutorial teaches you how to create a partition hex mesh for a complex solid geometry.

While completing this tutorial, you learn how to:

  • Create an abstraction shape.

  • Partition a geometry into simpler volumes that can be hex meshed.

  • Mesh a part using the partition hex mesher.

  • Create additional partitions to create regions that can be meshed using the structured mesh technique.

  • Edit a mesh to assign the structured hex meshing technique to partitioned regions.

You can apply this type of workflow to your own model and scenario to your own model and scenario.

To complete this example, you must have access to the following apps:

  • Structural Model Creation

  • Geometry Idealization Essentials

  • Model Assembly Design

To try this tutorial yourself, see Tutorial: Partitioning a Part for Hex Meshing.

Thanks to @CH and @RP for their support in developing this tutorial.
