We were delighted to have Thomas Wang from General Motors and our own Charles Yuan, Industry Process Consultant Senior from SIMULIA, present at the 2022 SIMULIA Great Lakes Regional User Meeting, June 8, 2022.

Abstract: This presentation is to demonstrate the methodology of using Abaqus and Isight to simulate some of the key performances due to missing or poor-quality welds.

Biography: Thomas Wang has worked for GM for 32 years, focused in GM High Voltage batteries since 2008. From 1992-1994 he worked on GM EV1. Thomas is an avid Isight user since 2000 and has collaborated with Charles Yuan and Dassault Systèmes on many GM projects.

Charles Yuan is an Industry Process Consultant Senior at MBSE Process Team in Dassault Systemes Simulia Corp. He has been with Dassault Systemes Simulia Corp for over 26 years. He works in the area of simulation process integration, design optimization, multi-disciplinary optimization, multi-objective optimization, robust engineering, and MBSE.
