Job Description

Inkjet printers are highly-technical devices, and their development includes mechanisms, structures, electronics, control systems, hydraulics, media transport, and airflow. Our development environment is exciting and dynamic, with extensive cross-functional interaction.

As a member of the Mechanical Engineering Simulation (MESim) team, responsibilities of this analyst position involve working closely with R&D engineers to prioritize and generate simulation models, deliver analysis results, and offer insights and recommendations for design improvement.

Additional responsibilities may include working with various test and measurement groups to validate simulation models, participating in group strategic planning, evaluating new software for applicability to R&D analysis needs, and teaching other mechanical engineers in the use of finite element and mechanism analysis software.

Qualifications

Required Degree/Experience

MSME (or equivalent) and 3+ years of experience performing linear and non-linear finite element analysis 

OR...

BSME (or equivalent) and 5+ years of applicable engineering experience including at least 3 years of experience performing linear and non-linear finite element analysis

Additional Skills

  • Experience with structural analysis involving polymer materials
  • Experience with 3D CAD modeling and standard office productivity applications
  • Demonstrated strong written and verbal communication
  • Comfortable in a teaching/tutoring role

Desired

  • Experience with kinematic/dynamic mechanism modeling and/or mold filling simulation. 
  • Experience in coordinating experiments for validating simulation models.
  • Knowledge of and direct experience with the following software:  Abaqus, Creo Elements/Direct Modeling, Mathcad, Matlab, Mechanica (a.k.a., Creo Simulate), Moldflow, RecurDyn.
