Hello,
My name is David Farnia and I am head of Technical Sales in North America for the JMAG Electromagnetic FEA package. We have partnered with Simulia to help give our customers access to the best possible tools for simulating complex multi-domain analyses.
We at JMAG recognize that today's electromechanical devices must achieve higher performance in more demanding environments. At the same time, it is not possible to rely on a "build and check" style of design/development. Which means that companies must utilize advanced simulations early in the design process to determine the viability of a product.
In many cases, this analysis must cross multiple design domains. I.e an electric motor simulation has to include controller dynamics to accurately capture losses which are then necessary to predict thermal performance of the electric motor.
We talk about these issues and more in our latest Newsletter. We also speak with John Deere's Jim Shoemaker to learn more about Virtual Prototyping and how they have successfully used JMAG to electrify their earth moving equipment.
John Deere is moving into electrification and many of our new products now have electric drives.(See story on 644k Hybrid Tractor above, or add image/reference to newer model) We are also a company that is very much moving towards virtual prototyping so we are trying to remove as many vehicle prototype builds as we can. We would like to design it, simulate it, build the first mule (prototype), prove it and run it, all while reducing the number of prototypes. So we are simulating everything, mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, etc.
If you have any questions, please feel free to contact us directly. I look forward to posting more information on what JMAG and Simulia can do together!
Thanks!
David Farnia
