As wind turbines increase dramatically in size, Structural-dynamic behavior is more important than ever.

New approaches for wind turbine simulation were needed as industrial simulation codes for wind-turbine-specific problems had some shortcomings in structure modeling, especially for drive trains. Simpack catered for this by developing some add-on tools like an aerodynamic module to consider rotor aerodynamics and turbulent wind field input.
