General Motors | Simpack Application in Driveline Control Integration | SAUC 2025

Abstract

The multi-body dynamics (MBD) software Simpack was applied in driveline control integration work and applied in a few analyses. Simpack was integrated in Matlab Simulink software as the plant model to simulate the vehicle dynamics to help understand the physics and develop the control algorithm by the co-simulation results. This presentation will introduce the different analysis examples in driveline control work. Frequency sweep analysis is to analyze the driveline frequency and understand the driveline properties. Torque ripple analysis is to simulate the resonance in the vehicle seat track acceleration excited by the fluctuation in the electric motor torque signal. Tip-in tip-out analysis is to analyze the clunk noise excited by the gear lash in the tip-in tip-out maneuver.
