Abstract:
EM simulations are an indispensable tool for compliance testing and design optimization of transmit and receive arrays of MR systems. Since the entire field distribution can be obtained, it is possible to extract various pieces of useful information for realistic exposure scenarios that cannot be obtained from measurements in phantoms or in vivo in comparable detail. In particular, numerical computation of RF fields in human body models is the only possible way to obtain realistic SAR distributions. The talk highlights workflows and strategies to obtain numerical results for RF exposure assessment, SAR online monitoring and performance evaluation of multi-channel RF coil arrays.
