Hi Everyone,
I would like to share the Excel Application for pre/post processing of the rotordynamic analysis using Abaqus. In 6.12, we support the new rotordynamic load, "ROTDYNF" and unsymmetric stiffness/damping coefficient of connector behavior depending on the frequency. However, Abaqus/CAE does not support these capability in 6.12 and user has to define multiple steps in order to assign multiple spin speed cases.
To help Abaqus user create the rotordynamic model, I attached the Excel application file. The detailed instruction can be found in the attached PDF and animation files. Excel will create the Abaqus input file once users fill out all necessary data in predefined sheet in the Excel file. The spread sheet format will be familiar to the current rotordynamic engineer and is easy to check the rotor system model. Moreover, user can customize the functionality by adding/modifying VBA (The VBA project is protected with password, which you can find in cell "A100" in "FirstPage" sheet).

Note:
1. In stability analysis animation, for 3-D solid model, I just removed all other spin speed cases except for one spin speed case in order to save the analysis time.
2. The orbit plot implemented in the current version is not real orbit plot. The real orbit plot should have the whirl direction and orbit path at each node. The real orbit plot plug-in is under the development now.
3. The post processing of the 3-D solid element results is not supported now.
4. Since the size of the animation file for stability analysis is big, the file is separated into two files.
