Abstract
Ericsson Antenna has benefited from simulations to reduce costly prototyping, but migrating to a simulation-based process presents challenges. Long-term storage of simulation data using conventional methods is expensive, and quickly accessing the right data can be time-consuming. To address these issues, Ericsson Antenna needed simulation data to be easily accessible, supporting reusability and faster decision-making when reviewing component designs and results.
To achieve this, Ericsson Antenna adopted the 3DEXPERIENCE platform, which categorizes antenna components and their simulation data in a consolidated library. This allows developers to quickly review and compare simulation results of different components, facilitating better decision-making. The platform also enables efficient reuse of components in antenna systems, maintaining high simulation accuracy and ultimately reducing development lead times, delays, and costs.

Christian Petermeier leads the Data & Tools department in Ericsson Antenna Technology's product development in Rosenheim since 2023. He oversees the Way of Working, focusing on RF simulation practices and ensuring the availability of suitable development tools, including MCAD, ECAD and HW simulation. His department also handles layout design. Christian studied Electrical Engineering at TU Munich and previously worked as an RF engineer in the automotive industry before moving into leadership roles in RF technology.
Rahul Sequeira serves as the Key User for RF Simulation practices and workflows at Ericsson Antenna. In his role, he is instrumental in advancing efficient processes within the RF Simulation domain to improve development efficiencies for antenna systems.
