Our SIMULIA brand’s mission is to deliver a broad, robust portfolio of industry-specialized and general-purpose multi-physics and multi-scale simulation solutions enabling our users to solve sophisticated and important engineering problems. Our users are, in turn, leveraging these solutions to create better products for their customers.
It is with this backdrop that I am pleased to announce the acquisition of EOMYS, adding unique capabilities to understand and improve electric vehicle noise and vibration to our wide-ranging portfolio.
Since its formation in Lille, France, by Jean Le Besnerais, a PhD Electrical Engineer, the EOMYS team has been at the forefront of helping our customers solve magnetic noise & vibration (e-NVH) issues induced by electric motors. Initially started as an engineering services company, their e-NVH knowledge and expertise became the foundation of the multiphysics technology in the Manatee software.
If you're not already familiar with it, you may be wondering, 'Why is the software called Manatee?' It's an acronym that stands for "Magnetic Acoustic Noise Analysis Toolchain for Every Engineer"—thus, Manatee!
Manatee’s unique capabilities makes it easier and faster for electrical, mechanical and NVH engineers to assess requirements and improve NVH performance at all design stages of electrical systems, from the e-motor concept phase to the system-level detailed design phase. It can be used by all types of engineers - electrical, mechanical, acoustics and test engineers - involved in the development of electrical systems.
While noise & vibration analysis might sound like a very specialized step in electric drive design, it is actually fundamental to the entire design process and has a direct affect on whether the system works properly. As such, customers value Manatee for helping them optimize their designs for maximum performance while at the same time reducing the development time and costs of electrified systems.
Please join me in giving a warm welcome to the EOMYS team!
To help you learn more about Manatee, I have also included links to a two-minute introduction and a one-hour webinar. I invite you to share your comments or questions to my post below.
