Abstract:

For an optimized inverter design electromagnetic simulation is used. By this simulation it is possible to do the first analysis before the first hardware prototype is available. This presentation is focused on the simulation methodology for design support, not on the design itself. Field of analysis is a power supply inside a traction inverter. Magnetic analysis of the transformer, the transient signals on the transistor switch and main current paths are presented. Simulation results are verified by measurement results
