EMC Simulation of Electric Vehicle Powertrain | India RUM 2021

RUM2021 RUM2021-India EMC

The automotive industry has recently experienced a tremendous push towards electrification and all OEMs are planning to develop new electric cars. Especially hybrid (HEV) and battery electric vehicles (BEV) are developed and needed to fulfill ambitious CO2 emission targets faced by OEMs. This paradigm shift poses complete new challenges in the development process of these cars. One of these new challenges is the electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) for such a vehicle.

In this webinar, we will demonstrate how to simulate the EMC of the electric power train of an electric vehicle. The simulation will be build up step by step from component to system to full vehicle level. We will start with the inverter then add a filter and demonstrate how the motor influences emission. A special section will be dedicated to cables as careful cable design is one of the keys towards a compliant system. Finally all components will be assembled into a virtual twin of the vehicle for EMC simulation.
