Abstract
Electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) is a key requirement for household appliances, ensuring reliable operation within increasingly complex electrical environments. For power electronics-based products, EMC compliance can become a major challenge if not addressed early in the development process, often leading to delays, additional design iterations, and unexpected costs.
Induction cooking systems are based on switching power stages that can generate significant electromagnetic disturbances. For this reason, simulation tools can play an important role in supporting design decisions before hardware validation.
This presentation will provide an overview of how CST can be used to analyze the electromagnetic behavior of power electronics boards in induction appliances, with the goal of supporting EMC-oriented design optimization. The discussion will highlight how simulation can help identify critical aspects of a design at an early stage and contribute to reducing development risk and the amount of testing required later in the process.
