Dynamic CT and Opportunities for Advancement of Validated Modeling & Simulation I 2022 Great Lakes Regional User Meeting

We were delighted to have Shane Mooney from Kinetic Vision present at the 2022 SIMULIA Great Lakes Regional User Meeting, June 8, 2022.

Abstract: Advancements in modeling and simulation have been accelerating over the past three decades and have largely focused on replicating real-world object behavior. With the integration of Industrial CT, modeling and simulation has adapted to incorporate real product geometry and physics affecting a product’s quality and performance. New technologies are being integrated to provide real-time, dynamic CT scanning yielding behavioral geometries, deformations, and loads collected during the X-Ray process. Dynamic scanning allows for expanded input and validation metrics across the modeling and simulation spectrum, with the addition of time-based interpretation.  Models created from scan data are often large and require more compute resources. The latest iteration of the SIMULIA Cloud platform allows users to scale up on demand and solve these larger scan-based models fast enough to meet strict project deadlines.

Biography: Shane Mooney is a Group Manager at Kinetic Vision with co-responsibility for the Modeling + Simulation division at the company. Leveraging his background in Aeronautical Engineering, Shane helped to bring an advanced automation and data engineering discipline to the group. His mastery of multiple programming languages has contributed to the company’s adoption of multiple software platforms. Shane currently serves as the company’s technical liaison to Dassault Systèmes’ software. In addition to working on our client’s most complex modeling and simulation challenges, Shane also is responsible for the M+S Group’s business development.
