Abstract:
As wind turbine manufacturers ramp up production in saturated markets, the need for geographic expansion becomes inevitable. Thus, they must ensure that their production strategies deliver on quality and cost goals throughout a wind turbine’s 20-year operational lifecycle.
Even though the wind energy industry is on the rise, it is essential to focus on innovation to compete with other energy supply markets. Increasing economies of scale, more competitive supply chains and further technological advances will continue to reduce the costs of wind power.
To ensure continued growth and profitability, the industry needs to transform its ways of working and prioritize the adoption of new technologies to support its manufacturing and planning needs.
