Hello again,
I’m very pleased to pass along some more great news, as Dassault Systèmes today announced the acquisition of SIMPOE.
SIMPOE is a current 3DS partner and provider of plastics injection molding simulation software. Headquartered in Torcy, France, SIMPOE SAS was founded in 2004 after several years of research work in the area of plastic injection simulation starting in Taiwan in 1996. Determined to widen access to plastic injection simulation, the company developed comprehensive, easy to use and affordable solutions to meet plastic designers and experts needs.
As a SIMULIA product user you may not be aware of SIMPOE, but given that over 25% of parts produced in the world are made of plastic, you can surely understand the importance of simulating their production. For a manufacturer, there is a great deal of value in having the ability to design innovative and creative design concepts while validating their production feasibility.
At Dassault Systèmes, we believe SIMPOE’s technology and people are best-in-class for ease-of-use in plastic injection molding simulation, where simulation technology is far from being widely adopted.
As the President and CEO of Dassault Systèmes, Bernard Charlès said in the press release earlier today,
“Plastics form a crucial part of today’s products. They are increasingly complex, both in shape and production, as well as the speed with which they are brought to market. Simplifying the design and manufacturing of plastics is therefore a critical part of many industries’ product creation.”
“SIMPOE’s simulation technology will contribute to the 3DEXPERIENCE platform by helping our clients validate designs and injection molding approaches quickly.”
These are indeed interesting times, and it’s exciting to see the 3DEXPERIENCE Platform evolve from the virtual realm to reality.
