Daimler Truck: Increase of computation efficiency of co-simulation between a SIMPACK MBS-vehicle model and a multi-physics transmission model using SIMPACK’s control element 238: FMI Import | EuroCentral RUM 2024

Abstract

Modern trucks today use mainly automated manual transmissions including automated clutch control. To simulate the NVH behavior of a modern heavy-duty truck when launching and shifting, a co-simulation of various ECUs in combination with a mechanical SIMPACK MBS-vehicle-model and a detailed multi-physics transmission model is needed. The decrease of computation time by using SIMPACK’s FMI Import element to combine the mechanical vehicle with the multi-physics transmission instead of a standard co-simulation is presented.
