Kobelco, a Japanese provider of hydraulic excavators and crawler cranes, adopted Dassault Systèmes’ 3DEXPERIENCE platform, including CATIA for 3D modeling and SIMULIA for structural simulation. This integration allows collaborative design across global teams, speeding up heavy machinery product development.

Dassault Systèmes solutions have enabled Kobelco Construction Machinery to shorten product development time and increase design accuracy by eliminating design rework. SIMULIA conducts structural analysis on heavy machinery prototypes, improving physical prototyping accuracy and reducing time-to-production by roughly half.

Now, by analyzing historical purchasing data to drive procurement transformation, the company expects to save approximately €8 million in unnecessary costs. It also hopes to expand sales opportunities by utilizing 3D models in sales activities, enabling early-stage marketing efforts.
