Abstract:
Ferromagnetic materials are widely used in the industry. In the automotive sector they have a broad spectrum of applications as well. A lot of automotive products use magnetic coils, transformers, power chokes, ferrite beads, thin magnetic foils etc. An accurate measurement of the material parameters is always necessary to insure the proper product functionality. In this presentation a study of magnetic permeability measurements is reported. The thin ferromagnetic foils could be measured with help of vector network analyzer and a microwave cavity. The formulas to recalculate the sample permeability are derived. The 3D MWS simulations are performed in order to validate the derived formulas.
