CENIT: On the Automatization of Abaqus-Simulations using Sensors and User-Subroutines | EuroCentral RUM 2021

RUM2021 RUM2021-EuroCentral

Abstract: In the industry next to welded, adhesive or bolted joints connecting bodies permanently or non-permanently a lot of clip connections are used. Where on one hand a reversible connection is requested on the other hand someone has to ensure that a certain pull-out force is needed for removing a covering part thus even during dynamical loads all installations inside and outside are kept safe. The presentation is about a method making fast computations of clip-mechanics possible when the main interest is on pull-out forces. Within the presented method, sensors are taken into account identifying the contact states between pseudo-surfaces placed at certain positions along the interacting real surfaces. During the positioning step the real contacts are switched off. Allowing penetration in the first step the bodies can be positioned rather fast. In order not to significantly affect the process of positioning low penalty factors are used for the pseudo-contacts. When all pseudo-surfaces have penetrated each other the direction of motion is reversed automatically using the user subroutine UAMP which can also be used to conditionally stop a running step.
