Biomedical Modeling Workshop Series

On Thursday, September 8, SIMULIA, Simpleware, Adaptive Corp., and HPE hosted an Advanced Biomedical Modeling Workshop at The Ohio State University in the Scott Lab. The workshop began with a morning seminar featuring a keynote presentation Josh Lloyd from OptoQuest titled SpecifEye: OptoQuest’s Corneal and Refractive Surgery Simulation Software. Other presenters included Dr. Tom Hund from The Ohio State University, Michael Weisend from Rio Grande Neuroscience and Dr. Rouzbeh Amini from University of Akron. Topics ranged from understanding atrial arrhythmias to modeling current density distribution for transcranial electrical stimulation.

The afternoon was four hours of hands on with Simpleware’s ScanIP software and Abaqus. The attendees were guided by Simpleware to take a scanned image and turn it into a mesh which is then imported into Abaqus. Then they are guided through Abaqus and by the end of the afternoon the attendees aim to have a beating heart.

We are hosting a few more of these workshops around the world this year and hope to extend the series into 2017. They are free to attend but space is limited due to the number of demonstration laptops we have (provided by HPE). Below you’ll find a list of upcoming workshops. Feel free to sign up if you’re in the area and would like to attend.
