With the latest release of fe-safe i.e. fe-safe 6.5-01, fe-safe\\Verity has come up with a new attractive enhancement of ‘automatic weld finder for solid welds’. The intention is to provide a simpler way of defining the weld domain and weld lines, especially when multiple weld lines are to be analyzed, or to analyze several different failure modes i.e. toe, fusion, throat, root failure. Key highlights of the new technique are given below:
- Instead of inputting the weld domain and detailed information on the weld line nodes for each line and failure mode, the fillet group is defined instead.
- The various weld lines and weld domains are then automatically computed by fe-safe. Each failure mode is identified, e.g. Weld1[Toe], Weld1[Throat]
- Multiple weld fillets in the model can be supplied as a single fillet group and the software will automatically locate the separate weld lines in the various fillets
Please refer the demo video attached herewith to appreciate the above enhancements more easily. Here, I am referring to an example in the fe-safe\\Verity User manual which deals with weld fatigue analysis of T-intersection of the tubes. The same example has demonstrated in fe-safe 6.5-01.
