Abstract:
Airbus Defense and Space is a division of Airbus and covers tanker and transport aircrafts, combat fighter and unmanned aerial systems. The Department of Acoustics & Vibration within Flight Physics is responsible for technical and scientific work related to this programmes for noise estimation, reduction and certification. Within the presentation an overview is given on current applications of SIMULIA PowerFLOW for aeroacoustic assessments.
Speaker Info:
Alexander Kolb is a passionate Acoustics & Vibration Engineer at Airbus contributing to aircraft design and development within the flight physics area. He works actively with SIMULIA for aeroacoustic applications in order to improve aircraft design and reduce noise emissions. Alexander holds a Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from the Technical University of Munich. In 2004 he started as PhD student at Airbus and received his PhD from the Technical University of Munich, focusing on numerical methods for noise prediction. Topics of interest are noise source modelling & low noise designs multi-disciplinary analysis & optimizations for digital aircraft design and big data handling.
