Dassault Systemes has offered an advanced additive manufacturing (AM) simulation for some time now; and while the simulation itself may not be brand new, it is the uninterrupted digital thread on the 3DEXPERIENCE platform that actually accelerates the AM development process. The current presentation demonstrates how the integration of tools for and around additive manufacturing actually helps to tackle the oftentimes tedious and time-consuming process of driving the development of a product all the way from idea and design to final product. This is achieved by illustrating how the AM product development process on the 3DEXPERIENCE platform compares to a development process using individual tools and programs.
Applications of some new simulation technology, such as multi-axis material deposition, extended coverage of manufacturing processes and a number of technical application examples conclude the presentation.
