Accelerating Additive Manufacturing Through Simulation | R&D | RUM 2021

RUM2021 R&D Abaqus AdditiveManufacturing

Across all industries, additive manufacturing is a topic of interest. The Wohler’s Report estimated that in 2019, the additive manufacturing industry (including products and services) grew by 21.2% to \$11.9B and by 2024 revenue is expected to hit \$35.6B. What does this mean for the simulation community? Simulation has been used to address design and manufacturing challenges for traditional manufacturing methods. For additive manufacturing, simulation is leading the evolution of Design for Additive Manufacturing (DFAM) and helping to address issues of part quality and build failure.

SIMULIA and Dassault Systemes have developed significant technology in this space, including many advanced capabilities within the Abaqus solver. Please check out the attached presentation for an overview of our solutions, and a deep dive on our latest simulation technology for additive manufacturing.
