Abaqus Use at the Colorado School of Mines

Kelli Huls and Jeff Armstrong, both graduate students working with Abaqus in the Computational Biomechanics Group at the Colorado School of Mines, brought home some impressive results from the annual meeting of the Bioengineering Division of the ASME this year. Kelli and Jeff were competing with around 200 international applicants in the Student Paper Competition, and both won prizes. Jeff came in first place for his paper “A Generalized Cross-shear Wear Algorithm Based on a Novel Modification to Archard’s Law” and Kelli came in third place for her paper “Automatic Generation of Virtual Lumbar Motion Segments for Population-Based Simulation of Lumbar Spine Biomechanics”.

Congratulations to Jeff and Kelli!
