Answer: This particular model for organizing installs is laying groundwork for potential future capabilities. In particular, the distinction between code and CAA installs is something that is important for 3DEXPERIENCE installations. Also, installing everything most closely mirrors the behavior of the traditional Abaqus installer and so is the normal recommendation. The flexibility that this provides is relevant in some situations but in general, installing everything is always safe and compatible with old behavior.
