2014 Regional User Meeting - Great Lakes

The 2014 Great Lakes RUM was our biggest and best RUM to date! Over 560 customers, presenters, sponsors, and SIMULIA employees gathered together at the beautiful Inn at St. Johns to network and take in the fantastic presentations provided by both SIMULIA and customers alike. Some of the interesting technical highlights from the event can be seen below.

Great Lakes Michigan - Technical Highlights

  • Keynote speaker, Dan Gross of Honda R&D, presented some of the CAE methods that Honda uses to aid in the strength and durability validation of automotive chassis systems, and how these methods have helped to improve the competitiveness of Honda and Acura vehicle designs.
  • We learned about what's new in Abaqus 6.14, Isight 5.8 & 5.9, Tosca 8.0 & 8.1, and fe-safe 6.5.
  • Excellent presentations by Johnson Controls, Federal Mogul, Fiat Chrysler Automobiles, Hyundai, and General Motors were well received.
  • Paul Lam of SIMULIA gave a very useful presentation about ways to efficiently use Abaqus license tokens and how to optimize token usage by proper analysis setup as well as specific hardware improvements.
