You can convert an inserted picture into a 2D sketch. 

In the preview, you can crop the preview and regenerate it. You can also delete sketch entities, if needed. Note that the supported file types for pictures is JPG and PNG.

If any of the entities in the picture are small to convert, a message will appear in the bottom right corner stating so. The quality of conversion highly depends on the quality, resolution, size, contrast and sharpness of the inserted picture.

This functionality is handy in cases where you need to copy a certain design from an image into your model or you wish to add a name on one of the model surfaces.

It is important to note that the image can be inserted and converted to a sketch only on a planar surface. Cylindrical or non-planar surfaces do not support this functionality at the moment.
