What is it about? 

Join us as two of our GEOVIA in-house experts, Kim FERGUSON THOMAS and Ash COLTON, answer a series of frequently asked questions about Surpac: Point Clouds. This will be followed by a 10-minute open-to-the-audience Q&A session.

The webinar will cover the following main topics:

• Importing a point cloud into Surpac - what can be imported and best practice for doing so?
• Subsampling a point cloud to reduce cloud density for downstream processes. 
• Using the file-based point cloud functions - why do we use them and how is it done?
• Meshing a point cloud - what are the best ways to create a mesh (DTM) from a cloud?

Meet the Presenters

@KF     GEOVIA User Sucess Specialist Kim has been working as a geologist for 30 years and a Surpac user for just as long. Before joining Gemcom – now Dassault Systèmes’ GEOVIA – 16 years ago, she worked as a Production Geologist in Underground and Open Pit Mines , Project Geology and Resource Estimation with experience in Gold, Base Metals, Diamonds & Mineral Sands.

@AC    GEOVIA User Success Specialist   Ash started in the mining industry as a Surveyor back in 1998 working in various Open Pit and Underground mines in Western Australia.  After a short stint away from mining he started working for GEOVIA in 2008.  Since then he has helped many clients achieve their goals through training and consulting in Surpac, MineSched and Macros.  He now works in a support role for GEOVIA, allowing him to dedicate 100% of his time assisting clients with any questions they may have.
