✨Tips & Tricks: Image Georeference to Datasource

Description

Did you know you can create a geo-referenced image dataset with interactive scale and orientation ?

Prerequisite

You must have an image stored on the 3DEXPERIENCE platform in JPEG or PNG format.

Step 1: Position your image in context

Open the 3DDrive window containing your image on part of your screen and simply drag and drop it onto the map in your City Discover application.

Once your image appears on the map, use the positioning robot to align it, adjusting its translation, orientation, and scale as needed.

Step 2: Convert Image to GeoTIFF Format

Once your image is correctly positioned in City Discover, open the City Prepare application. Select the data layer/object corresponding to your image, drag it into City Prepare, and choose the option to inherit geolocation information.

Step 3: Import the GeoTIFF as a Dataset

During the loading process in the City Prepare application, your image was automatically converted into GeoTIFF. You can now use it to create an imagery/map dataset by adding it into the City Referential application.

Step 4: Dataset Ready for Use

Now that your image has been converted into a dataset, when you load it into the City Discover Experience application, it will be automatically positioned correctly.
