In GEOVIA Surpac 2023 Refresh 2, there is a new graphical drillhole constraint form available. You can now graphically constrain drillholes with a polygon, solid, dtm or a wild card (*).
This will allow geologists, geotechnical engineers and mining engineers to just display the drillholes in the area of interest. Eg. Drillholes that are above a pit, drilled through the underground workings etc.
Here are some tips on how to use the new constraint form
3DM constraints
- If you are wanting to see the drillholes that are within a solid
- Database>display>add new constraint
- Select the 3dm option in the constraint type, select the solid and apply.
- Hide the faces of the solid and display the edges so you can see the drillholes within the solid.
- If you want to see all the holes that intersect a solid, then you would use the option “drillholes partially in the constraint.”
Table constraints
- You can create a table constraint based on northing
- If doing a constraint on an interval table, then select the table and the field. Eg you may want to see the holes with Gold>100
- You can now also use a wild card ‘*’ to filter out the holes you want to display.
- Constraint files
- You can use existing .dbc files but REMEMBER these were only applied to a table.
- You can use the new xdbc format.
- Combinations
- You can use the combination ‘or’
- You can use the combination ‘and’. NOTE: the constraints are 'and' by default.
String Constraint
- You can now constrain the drillholes graphically by using a closed polygon
