SPEAKER 1: Firouz KHODAYARI
Presentation Topic: The Earth Engineering Applications in the 3DEXPERIENCE Platform
Presentation Abstract: GEOVIA is developing solutions to help users sustainably plan, design and manage industrial projects that impact the Earth. These solutions allow the strategic evaluation and design of new or existing mines and projects before investments are made, providing the capabilities to maximize profitability and gain greater confidence in the decisions you make. From a tactical perspective, GEOVIA Earth Engineering solutions bridge the gap between strategic, medium and short term planning by providing solutions to plan, design, manage and optimize mining operations.
Presenter Profile:
Firouz is a Mining Industry Expert, author, and professional engineer with a PhD in mining engineering and more than a decade of international mine planning and optimization experience. He specializes in mathematical modelling, feasibility studies, mine planning, and production schedule optimization for open pit and underground mines.
SPEAKER 2: Andy TENBRINK
Presentation Topic: GEOVIA Project Workflow – Utilizing Partner Collaboration to Educate the Geologic Community and Develop Better Resources
Presentation Abstract: Modern resources have long since evolved from basic geologic sections and polygonal estimations. Regulatory scrutiny, corporate and personal liability, and critical peer review have never been more prevalent than they are today. Modern resource estimation has advanced to a level that requires collaborative efforts between not only Geologist and engineers, but industry mentors, software providers, and downstream partners. Optimizing and thorough understanding of the data, workflow, and software provides the key to accurate, precise, and realistic resource estimation.
Presenter Profile:
Andy TenBrink has more than 18 years of varied experience in mining project development, geologic resource modeling, industrial mineral operations, and federal regulatory oversight. Most recently he held roles at US Silica / EP Minerals including positions of Mining Engineer, Mines Manager, and Mine Planning Manager while providing oversight to nine active mining operations, including diatomaceous earth, specialty clays, and sand deposits.
