Did you know that with the Supplier Item Qualification widget provided by the Supplier Item Manager (XSP) role, we can see a list of approved and preferred Manufacturer Equivalent Items/Parts for a product assembly?

With this widget, you can create new Manufacturer Equivalent Items (MEIs), manage existing Manufacturer Equivalent Items, manage the Qualifications against those Manufacturer Equivalent Items and view existing Engineering Items that have MEIs associated with them, as well as viewing an Engineering Assembly that contains MEIs (first level view).

The view of the Engineering Assembly provides much information in one consolidated view.  From this assembly, we can easily see which MEIs are the preferred ones, which MEIs have been approved, along with the Manufacturer Name and Manufacturer Part Numbers of the MEIs.  Information and access to the Qualifications of each MEI is also available.  This eliminates the need of utilizing multiple resources to obtain such information.

With the Supplier Item Qualification widget and the Component Request Administration widgets provided with this role, we can facilitate the process of approving and qualifying MEI in a centralized system.  When a new component request is received, configured request templates expedites the review and disposition process.  The equivalence qualifications and additional context qualifications improves the compliancy of where these MEI components are allowed to be used.
